Entered Into God’s Rest
Hebrews 4:1-12
1Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.
2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
3 For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
4 For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.
5 And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest.
6 Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:
7 Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.
8 For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.
9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.
10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.
12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
With Jesus In My Heart
I Have Entered Into His Rest......
There are people who think that a certain day, still called the Sabbath, is the day of rest. In a way it is, because we are to rest ourselves from our labors at least one day a week. On this day we are to keep our thoughts pure, but not just for this day alone or just for certain days. When we let the Holy Spirit get through to us and we accept Jesus as our Savior, and the Holy Spirit enters into our being, a whole new life starts in us, a Spiritual life that is the only suitable life that God will accept. The scripture makes it known unto us that when Jesus comes into our heart, we have ceased from our own works from our own former sinful life and have entered into His Rest. We are to let His rest permeate our very being with the goodness of Christ. For as the Holy Spirit anoints us into the Life of Christ, we remain in His Rest.
It would be a glorious Rest with Jesus in complete control of each life that claims to go by that Glorious Name of Christ. When I view the Name of Christ I understand that to be a Christian I should take on the Christ like anointing of our Savior. For the meaning of Jesus is Savior and the meaning of Christ is the anointed one. If we would put it together in our heart we would come up with I am a Christian with Jesus in my heart. This takes on new meaning to each one who receives Jesus, truly receives Jesus, for the Holy Spirit would anoint each one with the same Power and Glory that Jesus had while He walked this earth.
We are not perfected yet because we are still in a body of weak flesh and blood. It is written that flesh and blood cannot inherit the Kingdom of God. Even the body of Christ, in His human body form of weak flesh and blood, could not even inherit the Kingdom of God. That is why it was so important that Jesus be resurrected from the dead so that His body didn’t see corruption, but was raised in incorruption. He was the first to be resurrected and all who truly believe with their whole heart that Jesus is their Savior will be the anointed of God and will be resurrected into a new body that will be with Jesus in His Kingdom. John wrote in First John, Chapter 3, that we don’t know how it will be, but we know that when Jesus comes, we shall be like Him and that means that we will have a resurrected body just like His body became when He was raised from the dead.
1Corinthians 15:47-57
47 The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven.
48 As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.
49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.
50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Because Jesus is in my heart I have the hope of the resurrection and because His Word says, although we do not yet know what we will be in this resurrection we know that we will be like Jesus. Because we have this hope in Jesus we will be raised from our earthy body into a heavenly body. We can only be raised into a heavenly body if we take on the life of Christ and live His way in His Rest. We must keep His Word of His Love in our hearts to have Holy Spirit Power in our lives to live the Life of Christ and always be ready for His return for His Church.
