PSALM  1

1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
4 The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.
5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
6 For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

Psalm 1 is an instruction that the Christian should take to heart in order for them to have the true Blessings of God.  Blessings are the true Spiritual things people feel when they have Jesus in their heart.  The blessings that the Jews enjoyed were earthly things as family, land, possessions and protection. These things for them were to give them the good life here on this earth. They could not have the Spiritual Blessings in their lives because they first rejected the relationship that they were to have with God when they refused to hear His Words of the Ten Commandments that were spoken to them from out of the fire from Mount Sinai.  They could not hear the voice of God speaking to them because of the sin of rebellion to God.

Spiritual Blessings affect the relationship we have with God.  Blessings come to those who listen to the Holy Spirit.  He alone gives the Word of God in Truth.   God's Truth affects the lives of those who truly know Jesus as Savior and want to have that close and intimate relationship that the bride, or the church is to have with the bridegroom, Jesus.  Spiritual people will know The mind of Christ in so much that they will want to please Him by knowing  God's Love and letting God's Love be the formost part of their lives.

In order for a man to be pleasing in the sight of the Lord he must not take part in any of the things that would be contrary to the Word of God.  People who let the lawlessness of the world consume their lives and take over their lives to the point of agreeing with sin cannot let themselves agree with God and His Righteousness in any way.  There are too many people, even what would be called Christian who agree with the world and sit in the council of the ungodly, They proclaim unrighteousness because they do not listen to the Word of God speaking to their heart that which would be right.  Sitting in the council of the ungodly would include what would be called "gay." When I was young the term gay was pure in a sense to mean a happy person, a person that had no ill feelings about anything.  Then there is what would be defined as the right of those to choose to take a life because they cannot control their sexual activity and the results of it.  There are many other things that can be defined in this same category, and can be just as dangerous to each individual in the sight of the Lord.  I think we could talk about sin for ever and sin would be just as obscure to those who have a will of their own and cannot let the Lord take their lives into His hands.

I believe in the Lord so much that I know that I am to let Him take control of my life completely. He made me for a purpose, just as He made everyone for that same purpose and that is to have fellowship with Him in the pure sense of letting His Love come into our lives. He sent His Son Jesus to die for us all and shed His Blood for the atonement of our sins.  He sent His Holy Spirit of Truth so that all would know the mind of Christ for our lives and so we would know the Law of the Lord and want only to please Him just like Jesus pleased Him in His Love for His Father.

The Word of God is the law of the Lord that we should all be taking into our hearts with full measure.  Jesus is this Law of the Lord that we should delight in and meditate upon and let take over our lives so that we would know what is Right and what is wrong.  I mentioned two things that the Lord specifically mentioned as things that He does not want men to do. First it was that thing mentioned that was taking place in Sodom and Gomorrah.  He destroyed a whole area in Abraham's day because of the wickedness of "gays".  In due time He will also destroy everyone these days who would be an unrepentant "gay" and who would be an unrepentant murderer, in an earthly legal way or otherwise.

The Book of Psalms has been a source of enlightenment, encouragement, and comfort to me in a time of need.  I do not refer to the Psalmists as those who have written what they feel about the Lord as we do today, as the Lord would put a song of His Glory in our hearts.  With the song of His Glory that we write and sing about these days, these are Holy Spirit inspired in those who have the music ministries of the churches.  These things are not only to bring Glory and Honor to the Lord, but are also used to win souls to Jesus.  A great portion of the Psalms were written for the people to sing and to meditate upon and are actual prophecies of future happenings in the life, death, resurrection, and the ascension into Heaven of Jesus, our Savior.

These things were given to the writers to write, as the Spirit of God gave them the Word of God.  Some of the things were given for the children of Israel to know where they came from and how their rebellious nature toward God all through their history had brought them to the state that they were in.  Some of the things were just like with every other book of prophecy in the Bible: Some things were spoken of in prophecy; Some things are spoken in prayer and supplication; Some things are spoken with the salvation of the Gentiles or the Gentile Church in mind.   Those who experienced the Revelation of Jesus as He gave them utterance, wrote what Jesus gave them to write and to be sung, and prayed, and in meditation think of the Gloriousness of the Lord and what He really has for them in the Beauty of His Holiness, that would be given by the Holy Spirit of Truth.  For He is the only one who gives everything with His Glorious Truth. He is also the only one who gives true Power to receive the truth and put it in our hearts so it would last forever.
Blessings in our lives are the good things, the Spiritual things the Holy Spirit gives us of God’s Love. If we seek Jesus and meditate upon Him, or fix our attention upon Him, the Holy Spirit will touch our lives and show us the Beauty of His Holiness.  It is then that we will no longer want to be part of the world around us. It has been my experience to know Jesus in a personal and wonderful way. In His presence my mind and heart becomes clean of the ungodly things of the world and very clear of the true Godly things that He brings into my life. I found that this change started to take place as I allowed the Holy Spirit to touch my heart and continually show me the Word of God’s Holy Love.

When I continually seek Jesus the Holy Spirit gives me a Spiritual understanding of God’s Glory in Jesus. In this understanding I find that everything we do should Glorify Jesus and bring no reproach upon that Wonderful Name. If we love the Lord with all that is within us like God’s Commandment says we will let His Holy Spirit of Truth speak to our hearts, and His Presence will Bless us beyond measure. His Works in our lives will abound and we will be one with Him as He is one with the Father.  All who truly have Jesus will seek council with Jesus and let His Holy Spirit of Truth speak to their heart these good and Righteous things.

Those who will be still and know that He is God will obey, not as of the letter of the law that requires us to obey under the penalty of death, but with His Love in us we will obey because we Love the Law as the Holy Spirit of Truth places it in our hearts.  The Spirit of God in us bears witness to our spirit that we are in the will of God and what so ever things He has for us will prosper. Blessings come when we listen to what the Lord tells us and obey His Still Small voice speaking His Word to our heart. To obey the Holy Spirit of Truth is the real key to everything that is good and righteous.

Everything that we continue to listen to from the world that promotes the goodness of man and what he tries to do without God is in the realm of the council of the ungodly. For man is wicked in all his ways of sin without God. We must let His Godly Love come into our heart to change us and cause us to be pleasing unto The Holy, Holy, Holy God of Heaven: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
